Amelia after Christmas

We are going to Amelia Island next week for the first time in many years.  Can someone suggest a couple of good restaurants?  We loved the DownUnder.  Is it still there?  And we always used to eat at the Florida House on the way out of town.  Thanks.

restaurants in Amelia

Both restaurants have closed. You could try Wicked Davies (downtown - N 1st or 2nd), or Caribou Cafe also Downtown. Barbara Jeans is also pretty good - southern food. On the right hand side as you cross the bridge onto the island from Yulee/I-95. Hope you enjoy.

Restaurants on Amelia

I used to work at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island and lived in Fernandina Beach (the other end of the island). Check out the little downtown village of Fernandina, there are several little cafes there. Amelia Island Plantation has several restaurants in their area that are open to the public as well as registered guests. There are a great deal of new shopping strips and free standing restaurants on the road mentioned earlier coming through Yulee from I-95. Don't be afraid to take one of the brief (15-20 mins) drives to Jax Beach either, they have a few more options. Have a safe and fun trip!

Restaurants

Sorry I didn't see this before your trip.  I hope you tried OPS (near Applebees), Gennaros, Joes 2nd Street Bistro, Beech street Grill, Arte Pizza, Cedar River Seafood and T-Rays.

I live in Fernandina, and there are so many great choices.

Where Florida REALLY begins.
