We are planning a trip to Yellowstone probably in late August. Would love some ideas regarding staying in the park or staying outside the park and traveling in on a daily basis. Any suggestions would be helpful. We will not be doing any hikes or walking any long distances due to a health issue.

A few years back, my family and I traveled to Yellowstone. We actually stayed in the park at one of the unique lodges. It really puts you right in the middle of the action, so to speak!
Any other Yellowstone travel advice?
Me too.

Didn't see your post and just started a thread myself seeking Yellowstone advice. We'll be there just a few weeks before you in the BEGINNING of August. One thing I found out so far is I waited too long to place lodging reservations. Stuff books up early there!
So we're camping! Sort of. We're renting a mini-van with plans of sleeping in that. (No sleeping on the ground in a tent for this afraid-of-wolves-city dude.) Hopefully we get the van model we want - rear seats stow away leaving a big flat area in back. Campsites are still available inside the park and for only about $22 per day. Once we get there, I plan to see if any of the Lodge cabins may have opened up.
If you haven't made reservations yet and plan to stay in the park, better get crackin'. You'll be on-hold for quite a while when you call, but just hang in there. Reservations people are very nice and helpful. The time we're going is high season and I'm expecting to see lines everywhere. You've probably already noticed that hotel rates are relatively high. Well, they are for me anyway.
But we're looking forward to a fun adventure.
